Nasi Briyani Claypot @ Restoran Kapitan, Penang

Pix from :http://www.globaltravelmate.com (masa tu terlupa nak snap sendiri.. haha)
Masa berada dekat Pulau Mutiara hari itu, kawan aku Fiza ajak kami pergi makan kat Restoran Kapitan, di Lebuh Chulia, Georgetown. Dia cakap Nasi Briyani Claypot kat situ sedap. Mula-mula kita orang tak excited sangat sebab kami ingat dia nak ajak pergi kat kedai nasi kandar ke. Si Fiza nie gemar gak nasi kandar gak. huhu..

Bila sampai tengok kedai memang macam ala-ala kedai nasi kandar gak tapi tengok menu lain sikit. Macam menarik je. Oleh kerana telah di rekemen Fiza, akhirnya kami semua order menu yang sama. Menu pilihan adalah Nasi Briyani Claypot lauk Ayam dengan harga RM10.90.

Nasi Briyani Claypot with Tandoori Chicken (tapi nampaknya serve dalam bekas nie bukan claypot dah)
Dia punya portion agak besar. Nasi itu guna beras basmathi yang di masak guna rempah ratus dia la served with quarter of Ayam Tandoori yang memang best, aroma dan juga rasanya. Lepas tu nasi nie di makan dengan tiga jenis kuah - kuah dal, kauh kari dan kuah color putih tu kawan aku cakap kuah yogourt.

Nasi Briyani nie bila nak makan pandai-pandai sendiri la terbalikkan ke atas pingan sebab tula comot skit my place nie. huh

yummilicious.....
Frankly speaking, briyani kat sini memang sedap. Aku rasa ini briyani paling best yang aku pernah makan. Bukan nak mengampu ke apa. Tak ada share pun. hahaha... Sebab nasi dia pun bau wangi and nasi tu sebiji-sebiji (maksudnya x lembek or tak keras. Just nice je). Cuma yang kuah yogurt tu aku tak pandai nak makan la. Biasalah orang kampung. hahaha.

Kami suka makan
Lepas ini, Restoran Kapitan mark as one of the places I love in Penang. :)

Trip equal Therapy

Again, I'm writing over my sleepless night and these had to do with trying to sleep after past my bedtime. Well, I guess it doesn't doing that well to me. Arghhh...I got early assignment today but brain system just won't shut and go to sleep.

Since I'm trying to force myself to sleep so I guess maybe I try to write something that will make me sleepy. The thing that come to my mind was trip. Arghhh...When am I going for another holiday. I need it. Trip mean therapy. We all got problem and things that going on in our life. Your job, personal life and even with people around you. Sometimes you just need a break to break free from everything. Escape somewhere far. Do something crazy before come back to face reality.

Okay, maybe my trip before never been that crazy. Or should I say just normal. Anyhow, coming back to the 'therapy' thing. Spending time and share a laugh with friends during vacation together will help to ease the pain inside. Even if it's just for the moment.

So jom cuti-cuti Malaysia

Theasure in Chowrasta

SHAME ON ME. That's what I had to say to myself. I studied three years in Penang but I never come to this place. What am I kidding. I don't even know this place existed. Located at Jalan Chowrasta, Georgetown, I'm sure you can guess where Pasar Chowrasta got it name from.

This market is actually very popular among local and also tourist. And if you ask me 'How come I said it's very famous when I don't even know it existence'?. Well, it's not their (Pasar Chowrasta) fault. It's just me. Penang famous for their jeruk (preserved fruit) and here you can find a lot of hawker selling jeruk in the ground floor. And the price is a lot cheaper here compared to other places and bargaining is allowed, even encouraged.

But what really got me excited was when I went upstairs I found hidden treasure in ironically, a market. There stood few second-hand bookstores all piled high with books over another. Now don't get me wrong. I'm not a bookworm or something. I mean I barely finish a book for..emmm...okay.. I'm too ashamed to tell you for how long. But this place is so cool. It got tons of books and it's terribly cheap.

Owner (right) helped us to find books we want.
Even though all books are piled together from one author to another (unlike our Borders or MPH) but finding the one that I'm looking for is not a sweat at all. I just ask the friendly owner and he point me to the right direction. I guess he must have a very very good memory to memorize where all the books been place. I mean just look at the store. It's about four lots own by him. But I guess it's just his job to know which is where.

Price for books here can go down as low as RM1 and they even sell new books at a bargain price. Most of us bought at least two books each. (Told you we're not bookworm).

Got these brand new books There's No Place Like Here by Cecilia Ahern and Remember Me? by Sophie Kinsella for RM20 each.
Piece of History:
This market was bulid was built in 1890 by Georgetown Municipality and rebuilt in 1961.

Originate from Urdu word, Chowrasta means "four cross roads". It's a meeting of major roads - Jalan Penang, Jalan Chowrasta, Jalan Kuala Kangsar dan Lebuh Tamil.

There's Something About Penang

Bulan lepas aku dan kawan aku, Quz, Isz and Zue decided untuk turun Penang setelah sekian lama antara kami yang tak turun sana. (Untuk aku banyak kali gak turun kot..hehe) As always, Penang memang best bagi aku. Walaupun belajar lepas tu kerja kat sana kira-kira 4 tahun but pulau mutiara nie tetap unik and terbaik.

So dari KL, kitaorg bertolak Jumaat malam then takes about 4 hours driving including stop kat R&R Sungai Perak. Kat Penang kami tidur kat rumah sewa lama aku dengan Quz or should I say rumah sewa Nurin dan Fiza. Bila sampai semua orang terus cari bantal then tido sampai ingat sampai pagi.

Okay, enough about that. So pada waktu malamnya kami keluar jalan-jalan cari makan. Tapi memandangkan waktu siang tu pun dah pegi makan kat Anjung Budi, USM (masa kita orang study dulu tempat ini belum wujud) dan laksa kat Pantai Jerjak (terbaik) jadi apa kata pergi cuci mata dulu la dekat Batu Feringgi Night Market. Beside Nurin and Fiza, our friend from Penang Rus and Cherap also join us.

About 20 to 30 minutes drive dari Georgetown, night market nie agak popular gak dan harus pergi kalau melawat Penang. Bukannya nak kata night market nie lain dari yang lain atau ada benda yang tak ada dekat tempat lain. Cuma best gak jalan-jalan buang masa..huhu.. Tempatnya dekat dengan kawasan ala small town kat Feringgi (dekat Edan Parade). Berdekatan dengan banyak hotel, apartment, restoran, kedai-kedai and even fish spa.

Boleh beli souvenir kalau mau
CUTE...kedai nie jual dress comel...

Aku tak sure night market nie buka pukul brapa but better jangan datang lewat sangat sebab around pukul 11 pm kedai-kedai kat situ dah mula bungkus barang masing-masing. Tempatnya kat sebelah tepi jalan je. Panjang gak tapi kita orang tak jalan sampai ke hujung sebab penat kot.

Bila dah penat berjalan, perut pun dah mula lapar. Jadi ke manakah? Salah satu benda on Quz and my lists bila datang Penang nie adalah untuk makan char keuy teaw. Kat mana pergi pun, char keuy teaw tetap nak kena cari kat Penang gak.. huhu..

So Cherap bagi idea makan Char Koay Teow Telur Ayam Dibasuh. Yes memang namanya macam tu. Usually kita orang makan kat pulau je. Tapi aku pernah makan kat sini and memang tau best. So kawan-kawan lain pun setuju jadi kami pun menyeberang jambatan ke mainland demi sepingan char kuey teaw (datang dari KL memang sebab nak makan char kuey teaw pun..haha..senget btol kalau itu sebabnya).

TERBAIK....

Rasa char kuey teaw nie memang tak mengecewakan. Memang sedap, udang pun banyak cuma tak ada kerang. Tak tau la kalau kat sini memang tak ada. Walau bagaimanapun memang best even Cherap yang kene pantang tu pun order gak. Tapi dia punya  tanpa undang. Hmm...nasib baik tak buat char kuey teaw tanpa telur gak. Mesti orang tu pening macam mana nak masak. huhuhu...

Semua orang order saiz besar harga RM4 kalau tak salah aku.. Ada gak saiz kecil and Special. Serious bila makan rasa macam nak tambah sepingan lagi je.

Juliet Luck la pulak

Nama blog...Nama blog...Nama blog...

I need to find a new name. What happened was, it seems that 'Girl Meets World' is so common and when I google it, it's everywhere. Adoyai... dah la tak pandai berblog nie. Then nama pun tak ada yang menarik.

I'm starting to think that this is not a blog for travel anymore. It's a blog written about Nazlina's journey to write a blog. How she find the name? How many time she change it? And how many time in day she bugs her friend saying "I know, I know. I know what to name my
blog,". Only to find that few second later she sent another bbm saying that that name also been used by other.

Considering that I still haven't write anything about places I go when I'm suppose too. (According to my plan). I guess that idea seems to fits well. But I can't do that. That goes to show how dumb I am. So how do I make it sound more brainy? Okay let me tell you I came out with the name 'Juliet Luck'.

It's actually the name of my email that I been using it for a longtime. It's funny how you search hard for something when it's always there all along. So what does 'Juliet Luck' mean?

Back when I'm doing first degree in USM, there was these guy or a girl from my class (I don't even remember which gender now..haha) asked me to become one of their respondent for their assignment by writing my email address and what the name mean. So I wrote that 'Juliet' refer to a girl and 'Luck' mean that wanting for a good luck.

Then I aslo had people asked, "Juliet! Mana Romeonya?". I just answer "That's why I need luck, to find Romeo. hahaha".

If you want the honest answer. It actually mean NOTHING. 'Juliet' is as in Romeo & Juliet while 'Luck' came from a novel I study during my first year call 'The Joy Luck Club' by Amy Tan. I just like the sound of it together. Not so smart huh...haha

Meet The Girl

So here I am, about 14 minutes past 3 a clock on Sunday morning that I finally find an effort to write something to put on my first entry for this blog.  To tell the truth, I haven't even create any account yet so I guess I should put a note that today date was March 11, 2012 and see how long does it take for me to create one.

It's not that I'm not serious about starting this blog thing-y. Because I'm dead serious. Okay now I'm might sound like a bit desperate. Actually, I been given these thought for quite a long time. Well, make it since last year.

I asked my friend, 'would be great if I create a blog?'.

And they were like very supporting and it seems like everybody had one. Well, who hasn't? I used to had one too but I just forgot about it.

Then they asked 'what sort of blog you gonna have?'.

So I told them that the concept should be about travel and food. Or should I say places that I go and food that I eat.

Yeah, and that was LAST YEAR.

Lately, that thought came in to my mind again. And that's it. I just got to do it.

Then I told my friend again. It's the same concept with a little bit more girly stuff and I'm going to call it 'Girl Meet World'. And my friend was like 'Umur hang berapa sekarang? Baru nak jumpa dunia ke? Hahahah'. Okay. Shoot me on the forehead.

So I explain. 'Girl Meet World' means that I'm a girl who dream of travel the world. Or at least small part of it. Or maybe a very, very small part.

With my new found spirit I go and do my research. As in looked at other people blog. And damn they were very good. The layout, the writing and not to forgot the authors. Yeah specially the authors, they all very pretty and good looking. I was very wow with places that they went. Overseas and all.

All of sudden my level of confident to start this blog drop down under. Not that I want to compete with all the above average but more ashamed to share a story of my silly gateway written on the  internet. With a salary fall under 'miskin bandar' I couldn't possibly afford the over the top vacation.

But my housemate said to me, "Tak apa. Start dari bawah,".

Then I put a smile on my face. I might not have big buck like Donald Trump or a face like Maya Karin. And I'm so far from having body like Angelina Jolie. Even though I do wish to be like them. Wait a minute. Why does this has to do with blog? Silly me.

So there it was. 'Merepek' in the morning over my sleepless night. So now you meet the girl.
